Every tech blog is writing “How to use ChatGPT” tutorials. It’s boring. The real question everyone is asking is: If you had to pick just one, which AI is actually better?
As someone who works in Machine Learning, I use both ChatGPT and Claude every single day. They are not the same. They are built on completely different architecture, and they excel at totally different things. Here is the brutal truth about which one you should be using.
Where ChatGPT Destroys Claude: Versatility ChatGPT is the Swiss Army Knife. It has a massive ecosystem. It can generate images (DALL-E), browse the live internet, run Python code, and use thousands of custom plugins. If you want an AI that can do everything in one window, ChatGPT wins.
Where Claude Destroys ChatGPT: Reading & Nuance Claude (by Anthropic) has a much larger “context window.” If you upload a 100-page PDF, a whole codebase, or a long book, ChatGPT will start “forgetting” what was at the beginning. Claude remembers everything perfectly. Furthermore, Claude writes with a much more human, natural tone. It doesn’t sound like a robot trying to be helpful.
The Verdict: What I Actually Use I don’t use them equally.
- I open ChatGPT when: I need to brainstorm ideas, generate images, or write quick Python scripts.
- I open Claude when: I need to analyze a long document, write a blog post, or have a deep, complex conversation about code logic without the AI hallucinating.
Stop using the wrong tool for the job. Don’t force ChatGPT to read a 50-page report when Claude will do it better. Don’t use Claude when you need to generate an image. Use them for what they were built for.
